While cleaning out family storage, I came across the official Univeristy of Tulsa Homecoming 1969 program guide.
Inside you’ll find the inauguration of Dr. J. Paschal Twyman’s (TU’s 18th President), an article about the late former TU Athletic Director Glenn Dobbs and vintage ads from Tulsa companies.
Enjoy a piece of Tulsa history in this four-part series.
1. TU Homecoming 1969, Part One (Pages 1 through 16)
2. TU Homecoming 1969, Part Two (Pages 17 Through 41)
3. TU Homecoming 1969, Part Three (Pages 42 through 68)

Wow! This is amazing! I remember the Skelly pumps where you selected your octane level, and the Rainbo bakery at 11th & Utica.
I wonder what Golden Hurricane ice cream looked and tasted like.

I was impressed with the coaching staff. I counted seven including the head coach. Take a look at the staffs today. 14,15, whatever. and that doesn’t count the grad assts., training staffs, and “support” people.
