Blogging Like It’s 1979…
I’m not sure what happened. I think the simultaneous use of Twitter, Gmail, Facebook and WordPress opened a rift in the space-time continuum. I’ve been transported to 1979.
Since I’m here, I should do some sightseeing.
Yesterday, I stopped at Dairy Queen on the corner of Admiral and 193rd E. Ave. Today, that location is home to QuikTrip. I used to go to that DQ for the Dilly Bar. It was an on-the-stick disc-shaped vanilla ice cream dipped in chocolate, a favorite of mine. While I was at DQ, you’ll never guess whom I saw …
… Michael Bates. I swear it was he. He couldn’t be more than 16-years-old, but it had to be Bates. I wonder if grew up around here? Amazingly, he already had the full beard.
I stopped at Wal-Mart across the street, which is no longer Wal-Mart, and picked up a couple of albums, K-Tel’s Disco Dynamite and Billy Joel’s 52nd Street. I’ll play both records on this state-of-the-art media center (pictured after the jump).
I should pick up a couple of Atari’s and sell them as unopened on Ebay.
Hopefully, I’ll be back on time Friday for my one-year anniversary. Until then, enjoy these photos.
(P.S. Tomorrow: 10 Warning Signs You’re Barry Gibbs Love Child.)

Thanks for the memories..
I want to go back to the Tasty Freeze at Admiral and 187th east ave. and get a chocolate malt. Now its just a sleazy liquor store.
Maybe I’ll just get a Mudslide.
It’s a liquor store now, I’m sure you can find something chocolatey.
