Downtown Olympic Signs
August 6, 2009
Tulsa’s 2020 Committee wants to make a bid to host the 2020 summer Olympics. According to the committee, we would need 40,000 hotel rooms and a stadium built for 80,000. That is more than quadruple what the BOK Center holds.
Another concern no one has mentioned is changing our Downtown signs. Through space-age technology, I have created computer renditions of what our future Downtown signs may look like. Warning, in additional to Olympic events, building names may change, there could be a new asylum or Turley may extend south to Admiral. These are only possibilities.
Let us look at Downtown Olympic Signs.

I am waiting for Professor Harold Hill to show up and flim flam us Zekes into building(and voting to raise the sales tax!)on all this and a boy’s band. Wait, we already have Hanson. Of course Cathy Taylor would play the young and sassy Miss Shirley Jones.
Thanks. Now every time I see the BOK center I will have to think of Biker Fox.
Ohh nooooo…. that’s funny.
The best part of the proposal is using Mohawk Park. “Hello International Community, welcome to Tulsa. To your right, you’ll see the crime-ravaged neighborhoods of North Tulsa.”
At this point…it looks Big Splash will sponsor all of the water events, along with boxing matches!

Good Job, IT…

Dream big, Tulsa…Dream Big!!!

BTW…I didn’t get the OSU-Turley reference…
OSU-Tulsa is north of that sign. The hidden joke is North Tulsa becomes South Turley. As in a possible de-annexation.
Do you think they would include Noodling as a sport?
By 2020? Of course they will.
