10 Ways To Annoy Your Co-Workers

There are days when I cannot focus on my work. It is usually because I am bored, I don’t want to be at work or because I am spending too much time annoying my fellow co-workers. I didn’t start off as someone who took pleasure in driving other people in the office crazy, I just decided to do unto others as they have done to me.

I have mastered my skills, I guess you could say I am a Jedi in the art of annoyances. So I have decided to share my “Top ten ways to annoy the hell out of your co-workers.”

10. When no one is in the break room, place a bag of popcorn in the microwave and set the cook time for 10 minutes. Everyone loves the smell of burnt popcorn wafting through the office.

9. When the person sitting next to you goes on one of their many smoke breaks, get on their computer and visit porn sites. Something involving animals will usually get the attention of HR and the IT department.

8. Open up the refrigerator in the break room and help yourself to someone else’s lunch. I personally like to ask around in advance and see what everyone brought before I make my final selection.

7. Eat a bag of nacho cheese flavored Corn Nuts while sitting at your desk. Not only will your co-workers enjoy the insanely loud crunching, but the aroma of sweaty feet should get you a few comments too.

6. Slurp your morning cup of coffee, that disgusting sound should make everyone happy. If you are not into slurping, get a straw and blow bubbles into your cup. Should anyone ask what you are doing, tell them you are trying to make a latte’.

5. Turn the ringer volume on your desk phone up as far as it will go, then go to the bathroom and call yourself from your mobile phone. Trust me; this one will really get on your co-workers nerves!

4. About an hour before lunch, call Domino’s and order a couple of pizzas. Don’t forget to give the name and phone extension of your “favorite” co-worker. This scenario is really fun to watch, especially when “they” end up paying for the pizza.

3. While a co-worker is out of the office on break or at lunch, leave a post-it on their desk informing them to return a call to “Mr. Lyon” and be sure the call back number is to your local zoo.

2. My all-time personal favorite office annoyance is to clip your fingernails while sitting at your desk. If you are really bold, clip your toenails too, I am sure no one will mind!

1. And finally, if you really want to cause a buzz and get people talking during these tough economic times, just place a “For Sale” sign in front of your place of employment.

I annoyed my co-workers just by showing up. Especially on Mondays, when I came in with that; it’s going to be a great week smile.

Two people I work with have matching phones, I like to switch them around when they have been left unattended. I enjoy watching the confused little monkeys try and figure it out.

I’m in Pittsburgh, home of the Steelers. Annoying is graduating from TU with Lovey Smith and letting these stalwarth fans know that tidbit of information. Even more fun to say it from the standpoint of not really being a football fan to begin with.
