Locust Grove to Put Haiti out of Misery?
Elementary students in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, raised $1,637.44 to bring Haitians water. The same Locust Grove where 341 of Country Cottage restaurant patrons became sick from an E-coli outbreak.
The students donated the money to Water is Life, a charity that distributes straws to make contaminated water safe to drink.
Wouldn’t it be in their best interest to keep the straws for themselves?
It’s sweet that the kids want to help, but if Locust Grove wanted to gift me anything that had to do with water, I’d give them same reaction I give my cat when he brings home a dead bird.
“Gooooooood … kitty … I’ll just store this back here in the can.”
Once the child realized I tossed their gift in the trash, I’d say something clever like “you’re adopted” or “Spongebob is dead” to distract them.
I could also give them the same line my mom would give me, “I’ll put in on the refrigerator for everyone to see.”
…but I was 28 years old then.

Maybe they are donating their used straws?
Yogi, all I can say to that is ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! Also, who were the straws tested on to make sure they work?
