The Potty Patch, a Lesson in Potty Training
(Irritated Tulsan has been bought out by a multimedia conglomerate that focuses on mothers, peace and wellness. The new format will bring sparkles of joy to your day.)

So as many of you know, we have been working so very hard at getting our little one potty-trained. It has been such a trying experience to get him out of pull-ups, I thought boys were supposed to be easy to potty-train compared to girls? Any how he is doing really really well, he is currently wearing his “big-boys” during the day and a pull up at night. The not peeing the bed at night might take a while, I think his father may have had issues in that area too.
I do have to share one funny tidbit with you though. Earlier this week we got a puppy for our son and the puppy had an accident in the living room on the floor. Not only did I think this would be a good opportunity to potty train the puppy but my son as well. I was scolding the dog for peeing on the floor when he was supposed to pee on his Potty Patch.
A little while later my son came up to me and told me that he had to go potty. Why is it that children have to announce to EVERYONE when they need to go to the bathroom? Anyhow, I told him that he could go potty like a “big-boy.” A moment later, out of the corner of my eye I watch in horror as my child walks over to the Potty Patch that is for the family puppy and pees all over it. After wards, keep in mind that I am in shock, he say to me “Look mommy, I did it!”
Potty training can be tough, wish I had thought of using the Potty Patch when we were tryng to get my son out of diapers.
