Someone’s Political Career is Spinning in its Grave
Like many of you, I thought Bell’s Amusement Park would never return. A defunct amusement park left by the former Tulsa County Cootermissioner Randi Miller. Now, Bell’s may open in Wagoner County near Coweta.
If Wagoner voters approve a quarter-cent sales tax increase to pay for the infrastructure, Bell’s will rebuild their amusement park on a 40-acre site. The site will also include an expo square, animal shelter and fairgrounds. I guess we have room for a third official state fair.
I don’t live in Coweta, but I might move there to vote “yes.”
The plans are for Bell’s to be a year-round facility, and the best part … wait for it … wait for it … a water park.
What an awesome “screw you” to the Murphys, the carnies’ overlords. If you’ve forgotten, Big Splash and the midway at the Tulsa State Fair are owned by Jerry and Loretta Murphy.
Although never officially proven, the court of public opinion believes the Murphy’s were so far up Miller’s hatchet-wound she forced Bell’s out of Tulsa County. Then, the voters forced her out, but it was too late. Bell’s was gone.
Robbie Bell signed a 50-year lease with Wagoner County.
Randi Miller’s political career is spinning in its grave.

It’s funny how the tangled web of fate is spun. With the passing of time, Tulsans have gotten a good hard look at a metropolitan area without an amusement park. Just not as fun. With the No-lube-no-kiss treatment that the Bells got from the Tulsa County Fair people, it’s gratifying to see that revenge is a dish best served three years later. Yes, Randi Miller’s political grave is most definitely experiencing the spins.
I don’t think bells will return because of the politics and money involved, if they do I will be surprised. more power to them!
