Why North Tulsans Won’t Speak

June 29, 2010

North Tulsa has a no-snitch mentality.  It’s embedded in that area.

A few months ago, a McClain student was shot.  She wouldn’t cooperate with police.  Witnesses didn’t speak.

In February, someone shot and killed a man at Chicken Hut, a North Tulsa restaurant.  Patrons stepped over the dead body to buy their meals.  Only one person would talk.  Another shooting at the same restaurant happened in May.

Drive-by shootings, gangs and the highest crime rate in Tulsa.  Everyone wants a solution, but no one will talk.  However, if a cop shot someone, I doubt anyone would stay silent.

The problem is, well, we all know what the problem is, but no one will admit to it.  The reason why North Tulsans won’t speak is…

…Garden Gnomes.

South Tulsa is a Mecca for Garden Gnomes, and they’ll call the police over anything.

Garden Gnomes keep South Tulsans at peace.  They also keep children in line.

In the suburban hierarchy of Garden Gnome South Tulsa, children learn that if they’re bad:  (1) the gnome will come to life, (2) eat their face off and (3) kill a kitten.

The other threat South Tulsa children face is their fathers wearing retro 80s Hulkamania tanktops and panty hose at Woodland Hills Mall.

Because of this, South Tulsa children are less likely to start trouble.  They’ll cooperate with police.   When asked a question, they’ll children answer, simply to prevent the gnome from slashing open their throat or seeing their father walk through the mall in Just My Size panty hose.

To understand their silence, is to understand the lack of Garden Gnomes and public embarrassment.  Does this make sense at all?  No?

Neither does silence.

Unforunately fear of retaliation is a hard thing to overcome, but you’re right silence makes no sense.

More Garden gnome in North Tulsa might be the answer.

It’s the same mentality in west Dayton, east Charlotte, and Atlanta, where crime victims refuse to disclose information to the police about the suspect’s whereabouts. I live near Cincinnati and it’s the same here as well.

Jen – what are you talking about? I have lived in Atlanta ALL of my life and I am well traveled. I am now residing in this GOD forsaken state of OKLAHOMA. Atlanta may have high crime – but the police have a success rate that is unbelievable! No one talks??? Are you kidding me? You obviously HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A NEIGHBORHOOD PLANNING MEETING – AREAS U, K, & M. All of which are drug infested areas. The homeowners are present and so are the fire and police department reps. Please tell me what basis do you have for you opinion????

    North Tulsa Problems
My parents taught me and my siblings to be honest, just and to not be a snitch/tattle tale.
I say this out of pure frustration, disgust and lack of a foreseeable solution to the problem. the solution to the problem, resegregate Tulsa, White trash north of I-244 north to pine, Mexicans north from Pine to Apache, blacks north from Apache to 66th street north. THIS IS NOT ABOUT RACISM, this is about isolating the problem elements of the city and before you say racism, and racial profiling, it doesn’t take more than a fifth graders intellect to realize who the trouble makers are. I wish I could say well we need to segregrate those lousy white boys or those horrible Native Americans or those Indians
(India Indians) or those Asians or those Canadians or those snotty worthless blond white girls but alas they are not the problen. The problem with North Tulsa is not what people think it is . First and formost the residential areas of North Central and North Western Tulsa are the isolation areas for Tulsas incorrigible elements. You can preach all the tolerance, brotherly love and equality platitudes you want to but the bottom line is bad seed is still bad seed the public has had enough, it just the public is too cavalier, cowardly, and liberally conditioned to stand up for what needs to be done. Secondly the police need to take a brutal, harsh, and uncompromising stand against crime in north Tulsa if someone steps on a crack in the sidewalk you literally beat the snot out of him or her and send them to Big Mac in McAlester (not some slap your wrist baby prison) for 5 To 10 years or more with out parole. You have not zero tolerance but negative tolerance if they blink beat them half to death and send them away the problem is beyond critical and way out of hand it has been this way for decades if we ever want a truly integrated city then we as Tulsans must do the harsh and brutal things necessary to achieve the goal of a crime free peaceful integrated city. The public in its entirety needs to realize that in order to have a just society and a integrated society there needs to be justice and law and order. all people must obey our laws and moral conduct not a few or this race or that race but all it is one of the things that separates man from the animals. You have to to hell to get to heaven. before we can truly integrate Tulsa we need to eliminate the criminal tendencies from all of our people and realize that we are not black, white, brown, red, or yellow but that we are all just plain people and want the same things out of life each and every one of us. It not about diversity its about human decency and respect for your fellow man and about achieving the higher virtues in life.

about 12yrs ago I had a African American Boss, one day while discussing North Tulsa
I asked him would you let your daughter attend Mclain High School? he responded no
I wouldn’t. well folks the race issue is not one sided, A wise man once said you can’t
have a fight with one person it takes two to tango.

I have a blunt observation to make about this issue if I am wrong then prove it I am not just talking out of the side of my mouth I know this because I live in north Tulsa and have experienced it (I will be moving in the future). I feel strongly about this comment. North Tulsa’s population is composed of n—–s, (igger), Mexicans, and white trash. The minute you go north of admiral you are in a different world the code of morals and conduct, laws and order that normal people observes do not apply here. north of admiral there is a whole different way of doing things, ghetto and street rules apply be for warned decent people you don’t belong stay out this is not your hood. IT IS A DIFFERENT WORLD WHERE A DIFFERENT SET OF RULES APPLY PERIOD.
