The Shopping Carts of Sheridan Terrace
Sheridan Terrace is one of the country’s premier areas for the study of apartment dwelling cart collectors.
The complex successfully captures the negative images and common misconceptions of government-assisted living.
This collection features nearly 20 shopping carts imported from Bigé Lotus!, Sav – a – Loté and Brauhm’s.
The Shopping Carts of Sheridan Terrace runs through August of two-thousand-whenever. It’s located one block north and east of 21st and Sheridan.
Let’s take a look. Shall we?
• The collected masterworks from Bigé Lotus! Notice how the symmetry creates a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing balance.
• This piece covers the work of Brauhm’s.
• Functionality is the key to this portion of the collection. Beauty, perfection and storage.
• A statement about the isolation and insignificance that many people feel.
• A rarity from Doloor Generalés.
• This cart glistens as result of the artist’s positioning of the cart with the sun to eliciting a distinct luminous effect.
• The delicate and intricate work is an ode to the Clearance Sun God.
• Tension and energy are created with this artist’s use of the classic Rule of Thirds.

Beautiful. Perhaps one day my own lawn will be filled with such precious works of art, though I should take a cue from one of the photos. The use of numerous wind chimes and dream catchers are not just for purely aesthetic reasons. They also serve to ward off malevolent spirits that are known for absconding with shopping carts. It’s a little known fact that Hell (71st & Mingo) is festooned with shopping carts, thus channeling and concentrating all the evil of the world into one spot.
They’re stealing from the pockets of Americans who actually work… so what’s a few shopping carts?
A precious work of art.
Beautiful. You should print those photos out and frame them for your living room wall.
I did.
Pure Internet gold!
you never want to live at this place.I did for 90 days and I couldn’t take another day. Cats PEEING in the halls inside the buildings.Dog POOP all over the courtyard.Drugs being sold out the back door next to my Apt.I watched a guy beat up his girlfriend, and I stopped it.When I told the office about these things, they did nothing. So I called the H.U.D.office they told me to move if I didn’t like it.I lived at Sheridan Terrace for 90 days and I’ll never even go to visit that nasty place. Those shopping carts you saw, most of them are being used as a trash holder until they get full. The thing I hope is the stores are washing these trash an germ filled carts before we put our food in them.
I love this article ! I use to pass this place on a daily basis and always wondered about the community there. Your photos and descriptions are very creative and entertaining ! Love the website !
