Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (Chocolate Donut Hole Edition)

Start your day with a shot of sugary sweet goodness to really kick your body awake.  QuikTrip’s Chocolate Donut Holes are bite-size treats for an early morning pickup.  Normally, I’d drink coffee with these, but opted for chocolate milk.  No sugar coma or chocolate burnout … yet.

Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (Juicy Orange Freezoni Edition)

After four hours of mowing, raking, weed eating, edging, mulching and cleaning a pond, I needed something cold and frozen.  It’s QuikTrip’s Juicy Orange Freezoni to my rescue.  QT Freezonis are no ordinary slushee, these are carbonated.  I know when you’re dehydrated you should stay away from carbonation, but like I’ve said before, sometimes you want to nourish your soul.  The best part is that all summer long these are only 69¢.  Refreshing.

Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (Chicken, Bacon & Cheese Biscuit Edition)

This is my favorite Quiktrip Hotzi breakfast item, but I’ve neglected to post it until now.  It’s a complete oversight.  It will not happen again.  QT’s Chicken, Bacon & Cheese Biscuit easily beats that odd-pickle-flavored chicken biscuit that McDonald’s carries.  It’s made every morning with fresh chickens from QT farms.  Not really, but they are baked in the stores.  No Chycken used here.

Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (Philly Cheesesteak Wrap Edition)

Tender steak.  Melted Cheese.  Onions.  Green Pepper.  All wrapped in a flour tortilla.  While QuikTrip’s Philly Cheesesteak Wrap is decent, it’s no substitute for a Phat Philly’s.  If you’re unfamiliar with Phat Philly’s, become familiar now.  Best Philly Cheesesteak in Oklahoma.  If you need a fix and Phat Philly’s isn’t nearby, pick up Philly Cheesesteak Wrap.  Tasty.

Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (Nutty Buddy Edition)

When Oklahoma temperatures hit the 90s, a cold beverage, fruit or ice cream is what many of us crave.  On this day, I craved ice cream.  This ice cream cone is not made by QuikTrip, but it is sold by QT.  It satisfiiiiiiiiied.  From the first bite of nuts at top of the cone to the chunk of chocolate at the bottom, it fulfilled the craving.  Summer and ice cream.  A perfect match.

Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (Chocolate Chip Muffin Edition)

I’ve sample more than 50 items at QuikTrip and somehow missed their Chocolate Chip Muffin. Like all muffins, the muffin top is the best. It’s soft, moist and has a slight glaze on the top. Each bite is a chocolate maze of goodness. Perfect for a breakfast on-the-go, an afternoon snack or after dinner dessert.

Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (49¢ Drink Edition)

Summer is almost here, which means QuikTrip’s fountain drinks are 49¢.  Their fountain drinks set the industry standard.  Each fountain drink is set at 34 degrees.  The ice doesn’t melt as quickly and this cuts down on the fizzing.  With 24 different fountain drinks and your choice of cubed or crushed ice, there are thousands of beverage possibilities.  Quench your thirst for 49¢.  That’s my price.

Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (Oreo Cookie Cheesecake)

Three of my favorites:  chocolate, cheesecake and Oreo’s.  Drizzle some caramel over the top and I could die happy.  This QuikTrip taste-test is the Oreo Cookie Cheesecake. I almost ruined this slice of delightful sweetness with a McDonald’s Iced Mocha.  Blech!  It tasted like ashtray.  I bought the Iced Mocha for Wednesday’s post and thought it would be good combo.  I was wrong.  Enjoy this slice of delight with a glass of milk.  Nourish you soul.

Mattatarian’s Food Offering of the Week (Donut with Sprinkles Edition)

A classic cake donut.  QuikTrip’s Cake Donuts are the perfect sugar rush to begin the day.  This Cake Donut is topped with strawberry icing and sprinkles.  Since I have a bit of a sweet tooth, I dipped it in my French Vanilla Cappuccino.  Loved it.  These are baked fresh daily in QT Kitchens and delivered to the stores.  No day-old repeats here.  Bye bye Merritt’s.
